Fake news. “Hacked” elections. Echo chambers. Media bias. What’s next?
The storylines of recent American politics seem like they should have been pulled out of a television script rather than our newspaper…er, news feed. It’s all led to PR firm Edelman describing a “global implosion in trust.” And while this may have become our reality, the most appropriate tag line for our lives lately may be ripped from The X-Files: “Trust No One”.
Join PRSA Pittsburgh on Thursday, September 28 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Point Park CMI for a special program, Trust and Ethics in Communications. Communications professionals with years of experience in journalism, the public sector and energy industry will tackle the ethical dilemmas they face in their day-to-day, and how to begin rebuilding trust between communicators and the public we’re all trying to reach.
Our speakers include:
- Bob Kerlik, Vice President, Media Relations – Allegheny County Airport Authority
- Anne Linaberger, News Director – KDKA-TV
- Rob Boulware, Manager, Stakeholder Relations – Seneca Resources
