Senior Director of Communications and Social Media, Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania

The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) is seeking a senior director, communications and social media. This position is responsible for managing and directing the association’s internal and external communications, including for advocacy.

This position is critical to the association’s mission. Advocacy for good public policy requires a very sophisticated communications strategy, including utilizing all relevant digital and social media tools and crafting messages that resonate with the public and the hospital community.

This individual will lead the effective communications with association members, other health care stakeholders, and the public on the wide array of services the association performs. Today’s communications for HAP must tell our compelling stories to our audiences, and do so through state-of-the-art methods of communication.

Candidates for consideration must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or related field; a Master’s degree is preferred
  • Supervisory experience
  • Strong social media experience; experience with digital community advocacy a plus
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other HAP staff, members, and external publics

Applicants should have five to seven years of professional experience in communications, social media, public relations, or a related field. A background in health care or a trade association setting is beneficial.
