Account Manager / Account Supervisor, Belle Communications

The Account Manager role requires a proven track record in top-tier earned media results, strategic thinking, independently leading projects, team leadership and client service excellence. This role requires charismatic leadership as a team player versed in thinking BIG about creative strategy, measurement and innovation in PR and communication while being a connector and mentor within our team. This is a mid-level role requiring 6-8 years of experience leading client accounts in an agency setting.

The Account Manager will play an integral part in the growth of the Belle Communication brand and its client brands as a reliable and nimble member of the agency’s account team. This role is best suited for a highly detailed self-starter with previous agency experience who thrives in a non-corporate, fast-paced, virtual office environment.

As Account Manager, you will be primarily responsible for the growth and management of client accounts you lead through creative strategy development, project management, measurement and goal setting to ensure PR and social media campaigns align with client business goals and maximize ROI. Within this role, the ability to stay ahead of industry trends within public relations and know current events and developments within client industries will be essential to support the overall success of the team.

You will ensure the teams you lead stay on track with coverage goals and contribute strategic recommendations to build client thought leadership across traditional and digital marketing channels.

Key Responsibilities:

Account Management

+ Serve as a main point of contact and independently lead multiple client accounts
+ Build customer loyalty and nurture relationships with a focus on client satisfaction, retention and growth
+ Oversee the development and execution of client annual and project-based campaigns, including account staffing and effective budget management
+ Ensure clients receive highly relevant, results-driven monthly reporting clearly tying our strategy and tactics to their business goals
+ Manage, review and approve team projects on a daily and as-needed basis, delegating to the team and providing clear direction and counsel to ensure project success
+ Ensure campaign hours are optimized within client scope of work to ensure utilization is on target and overservicing is minimized
+ Ensure the account teams you lead make each client feel like one of our only clients through superior customer service, attention to detail and clear demonstration of our Core Belle-iefs

Creative Strategy

+ Oversee and lead the creation of annual and project-based PR, social media and creative strategy plans for your clients, including ideation, events, timelines, goal setting, measurement and tactical execution
+ Develop creative PR strategies that connect the dots across clients’ marketing mix
+ Ensure all campaign tactics support each client’s goals, brand and business objectives
+ Ensure your clients receive ideas, trend insight and/or competitive research on a weekly basis to position Belle as a true partner, stay front-of-mind, keep communication open and ensure we are consistently adding value to each client partner

Media Relations

+ Consistently achieve top-tier national, regional and trade media opportunities for multiple clients to ensure client hit goals are achieved monthly and overall by campaign
+ Develop relationships with key top-tier/ “Wish List” media and regularly share new media contacts and opportunities with Belle staff
+ Demonstrate a solid track record of regularly placing high profile media results on behalf of clients, showcasing a strong ROI for the client
+ Successfully plan, manage and escort media-related projects such as media tours, press trips or special events
+ Demonstrate creativity by leading group brainstorms, developing new story ideas, and providing strategic recommendations on media relations approaches
+ Lead, coach and support account teams to ensure monthly and campaign client hit goals are achieved

Social Media + Influencer Relations

+ Oversee or play a clear leadership role in the development of social media and influencer relations campaigns on behalf of clients
+ Develop paid and organic social media campaign strategies that support client goals and business objectives
+ Demonstrate a track record of developing and leading successful influencer campaigns, with an emphasis on micro and macro influencer partners
+ Provide advice and counsel on measurement for digital and social campaigns; be proficient in Google Analytics reporting

Business Development

+ Oversee renewal and expansion proposals for clients, proactively contributing annual strategy and innovation recommendations to clients
+ Play a leadership role in the sales process by identifying and pursuing organic growth opportunities to expand statements of work, assisting with RFP responses, participating in new business proposal presentations, etc. in partnership with agency’s business development team

Team Leadership

+ Provide constructive guidance and mentoring to team members in the areas of public relations, social media and strategy to help them strengthen specific knowledge/skills and grow within the agency as public relations professionals
+ Opportunities to manage team members, providing training, ongoing coaching through timely guidance and radically candid feedback and evaluating – includes goal-setting, reviews and contributing to career conversations around team member advancement
+ Assist in interviewing prospective team members
+ Monitor trends relevant to our clients’ industries and assist in educating the Belle team and your account teams on those trends

KPIs – You’ll be evaluated on the following:

+ Ensure consistent, positive client satisfaction
+ Identify and pursue organic growth opportunities to expand services for clients you lead
+ Ensure client retention through renewal of campaigns annually or extension of project scopes
+ Manage hours against client budgets and minimize overservicing on the accounts you lead
+ Client PR, social media and creative strategies goals are met and often exceeded
+ Ideas and resources are shared with your clients on a weekly basis
+ Monthly opportunities secured for each client you lead and/or pitch
+ Monthly hit goals achieved for each client you lead and/or pitch
+ Oversee the success and growth of client social/digital campaigns
+ Anticipate the impact of emerging technologies and adopt new innovations to enhance outcomes
