We are looking for talented individuals with public relations leadership skills to be a part of our Channel Marketing team.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, experienced public relations professional with the ability to lead a team across all public relations services. This role will focus on leading department growth, team coaching, day-to-day operations, client services and helping shape the strategic public relations vision for our organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic trusted advisor to leadership, business, and key stakeholders across the public relations practice.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and execution of strategic public relations plans.
  • Develop new public relations programs and/or services that demonstrate impact for our clients leading to growth for current and perspective clients.
  • Collaborate closely with the channel marketing team and other key Brunner stakeholders to further the integration of PR strategies with the holistic marketing plan.
  • Manage external public relations partners and tools, tracking budgets, monthly reporting, and delivery of support to meet business goals.
  • Build and/or strengthen key reporter relationships, staying current on relevant news outlets, reporters, and their areas of focus to proactively pitch Brunner’s clients.
  • Employ strong project management skills and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, consistently delivering high quality results.
  • Manage the public relations team fostering their talent and ensuring a successful growth path.
  • Participate in and/or lead new business development efforts as well as organic client growth opportunities. Write proposals and statements of work to define strategic approach, budgets, and delivery options to meet client needs.
  • Work with Account Teams to identify new opportunities for clients and drive incremental growth for the public relations team.
  • Run a profitable public relations discipline, reporting on contribution margin, proactively adjusting resource needs and new business growth plans to meet targets

Requirements:

  • Proven success in developing and leading a public relations team with a strong financial acumen.
  • Executive presence and strong communication skills, comfortable managing to results – providing strategic counsel, asking good questions, challenging the status quo, suggesting alternatives, and articulating pros and cons.
  • High level of comfort with ambiguity and fluid priorities; ability to manage multiple and complex priorities efficiently and effectively on budget and within deadline.
  • Ability to successfully engage and lead team members, providing effective guidance, coaching and capability development, maintaining close understanding of all team activities, ensuring high quality for all activities/deliverables, and implementing course corrections when needed.
  • Ability to make connections in a highly matrixed environment, with an eye on collaboration and integration, across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong listening and persuasive communication skills; able to gain consensus through influence and be able to pivot when warranted.
  • Experience in measuring the effectiveness of communication strategies.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word. Knowledgeable in all aspects of Microsoft Office and ancillary programs.
  • Ambitious personality who is open to helping with any task, high energy and enthusiasm to learn and grow.

Education/Experience:

  • Communications professional with a minimum of 15+ years relevant experience
  • 8+ years in a leadership role
  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism
  • Past agency experience preferred
