Alyssa Battaglia, External Communications Associate, Duquesne Light Company

Alyssa is a young and dynamic communications professional in Pittsburgh, specializing in media relations, crisis communications and community impact. At Duquesne Light Company, she leads the company’s media relations strategies and is driven by a customer and community-focused mindset, enabling her to gain valuable relationships with local media and public relations professionals.

Alyssa graduated magna cum laude from Duquesne University in 2021 with a degree in Sports Media and Information and certification in business administration. She was an active member of the Duquesne Chapter of PRSSA, Women in Sports and Events (WISE) and Sports Marketing Association, contributing as a writer. During her four years at Duquesne, she interned in media relations with the Duquesne Athletics Department and the Pittsburgh Pirates, where she gained skills in time management, working on a deadline and networking. After graduation, Alyssa worked with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a game day public relations assistant, supporting the communications team with media and public relations.

Outside of work, you can find Alyssa reading, taking a spin class, cheering on the Buffalo Bills and spending time with her friends and family.
